Bushranger Bikes is a specialist
cycling company run by Jon Newrick. My expertise is the organisation of small group, high quality,
adventure cycling tours as well as providing other cycling services and activities including
bike sales and hire, the sale of cycling equipment and adventure clothing,
the provision of cycling education and training services, and the delivery of community
based cycling programs. |
Bushranger Bikes Tour Terms and Conditions:
1. How to Book
To reserve your place on one of the tours organised by
Bushranger Bikes Management Pty Ltd (Bushranger Bikes), you need
to complete a Booking Form and send it to Bushranger Bikes
together with the specified non-refundable deposit.

2. Payment
The prices quoted in the brochure/website/newsletters are for
payment by cash, cheque or money order. The balance of the tour
price is payable to Bushranger Bikes 30 days prior to departure.
Failure to pay by that date entitles Bushranger Bikes to cancel
your booking and your deposit will be forfeited. Prices are
quoted in Australian dollars (unless otherwise specified) and
all payments must be made in Australian dollars. New Zealand
dollar payments and other currency arrangements can be made upon
request. All tour payments will be held in a Bushranger Bikes
security account until the tour.
3. Amendments/Transfers
Amendments:
If you wish to alter your tour arrangements
(eg; extend or included a special interest activity), you must
notify Bushranger Bikes in writing. Each alteration to your tour
will incur a $50 administration fee. All administration fees
must be paid before departure. Bushranger Bikes does not
guarantee that it will be able to accommodate your alteration
request(s), but will do its best to do so. Transfers: If
you wish to transfer from one tour to another, you must notify
Bushranger Bikes in writing. Once Bushranger Bikes receives
notice the transfer will take effect. Transfers may only be made
to another tour to commence within 12 months of your original
departure date (unless otherwise agreed in writing), and the
following transfer charges will apply:
·
if notice is received more than 30 days before your original
departure date, a $100 transfer fee will apply. In addition, any
increase in airfares or operational services will be payable by
you; or
·
if notice is received within 30 days of your original departure
date, 50% of your original tour price will be forfeited provided
notice is received at least 21 days prior to your original
departure date, otherwise 100% of your tour price will be
forfeited.
Note:
Any requested amendment to tour arrangements to transfer from
one tour to another is subject to availability and the agreement
in writing by Bushranger Bikes.
4. Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your tour arrangements, you must notify
Bushranger Bikes in writing. Once Bushranger Bikes receives your
notice, cancellation will take effect. Please note, the
following charges will apply on cancellation.
·
if cancellation is more than 30 days before your original
departure date, your full deposit will be forfeited;
·
if cancellation takes place between 30 and 21 days prior to your
departure date, 50% of the full tour price will be forfeited;
·
if cancellation takes place less 21 days prior to your departure
date, or subsequent to a transfer from one tour to another, 100%
of the tour price will be forfeited. The tour price is quoted as
a package. No partial refunds or credit will be given for
services not used. Any amount forfeited, which has not then been
paid to Bushranger Bikes by you, may be recovered from you by
Bushranger Bikes as a debt due and payable.
5. Health and Fitness Requirements
Participants must be in good health and excellent physical
condition and are strongly advised to follow our pre-departure
training recommendations. Participants should consider
undergoing a medical to determine you are fit and healthy enough
to go on tour. It is vital that participants with medical
problems make them known to us well before departure. If you
suffer from severe muscular, chest, heart or bronchial
disorders, or if you are a severe asthmatic, or have high blood
pressure, you are strongly advised against participating. Some
tours take place in remote areas where there is little or no
access to normal medical services or hospital facilities for
serious problems. Where necessary, evacuation can be prolonged,
difficult and expensive. Medical and evacuation expenses will be
the responsibility of the participant.
6. Tour Leaders
Our Tour Leaders take their responsibilities seriously and if a
Tour Leader believes in his/her judgment that you should not
participate in the tour, before your departure, even if you pass
your medical, he/she may exclude you from the tour. In this
circumstance you will be offered the option of taking another
tour considered suitable for you or a full refund. If during a
tour a Tour Leader considers you should not participate further
he/she may direct you not to continue and you must follow the
Tour Leader’s instructions. In this case you will not be
entitled to any refund. Travel insurance may compensate you
depending on the circumstances.
7. Delay, Cancellation or Change of Itinerary
Bushranger Bikes reserves the right to cancel any tour prior to
departure (including, but not limited to, by reason of too few
people booking on any tour) in which case, you will be given a
refund in full. You will not be entitled to make any further
claim for any injury, loss, expenses or damage (either direct or
consequential) or for any loss of time or inconvenience which
may result from such cancellation (including but not limited to
visa, passport and vaccination charges, or departure, gear
purchases, airport and airline taxes).
8. Insurance
Personal travel insurance is not included in the tour price. It
is a condition of booking a tour with Bushranger Bikes that you
are adequately insured for the full duration of the tour in
respect of illness, injury, death, loss of baggage and personal
items and cancellation and curtailment. A copy of your travel
insurance must be provided to Bushranger Bikes prior to travel.
9. Route Changes/Postponement or Delay
Bushranger Bikes may for any reason change the date of departure
or conclusion of the tour. Furthermore it is possible that a
route change, postponement or delay (either in relation to
departure or to the duration of the tour) may become necessary
due to inclement weather, snow and ice conditions, political
restrictions or any other cause. In the event of a change,
postponement or delay, participants have no right to refund of
the tour price (in whole or in part) or other compensation for
any injury, loss, damage or other expense which they may incur,
suffer or sustain (whether direct or consequential).
10. Airline
Any material published by Bushranger Bikes, the booking form and
these Terms and Conditions are not issued on the behalf of, and
do not bind any airline whose services are used or proposed to
be used in the course of the tour in any way. In the event that
an airline’s proposed travel or fare schedule is amended or
cancelled, such amendment or cancellation will not be considered
a cancellation of the tour by Bushranger Bikes.
11. Tour Prices
Package prices are based on ground and other stated tour costs
and exchange rates at 1 July 2008, or the date of printing the
Bushranger Bikes tour brochure. Bushranger Bikes tries its
utmost not to increase tour prices (in full or part), however
sometimes increases are outside its control. Bushranger Bikes
reserves the right to amend tour prices (or any part) without
notice at any time. Amendments may be necessitated for many
reasons including, but not limited to, exchange rate
fluctuations, increased fuel costs, increased airline costs,
airport charges, increases in ground operator services fees, or
the need to engage alternative air or ground operators. Any
increase in tour prices must be paid prior to the departure
date.
12. Exclusion from Tour Price
The following items are excluded from the tour price:
·
personal travel insurance;
·
airfares and any associated airline, airport and government taxes
and charges;
·
visa, passport and vaccination charges;
·
extra meals, transport costs, accommodation costs, or other
expenses not included in the itinerary;
·
laundry, postage, personal clothing, medical expenses and items
of personal nature;
·
emergency evacuation and/or emergency search charges; and
·
tips and excess baggage charges.
